
The sole light source here is the sun, which is just above screen, diffused by the clouds. It casts shadows towards the viewer, and adds some rim light on the center rocks. There is also a bit of reflected light on the underside of the rocks.
This is a many point perspective, where I loosely followed a point for each surface plane of the rocks.
I was hoping to first draw you to the rock with the hole and then rest on the main focal point - the nest. To emphasize the nest I gave it the biggest surrounding negative space and the biggest contrast against the sky. The line of the clouds also point to it, as well as the highlighted layers of rock.

OMG Rachel! My only gripe is with that much light against the stone formations, there could be more variance in value on the water. But VERY nice!
