It casts shadows towards the viewer, and adds some rim light on the center rocks. There is also a bit of reflected light on the underside of the rocks. This is a many point perspective, where I loosely followed a point for each surface plane of the rocks. I was hoping to first draw you to the rock with the hole and then rest on the main focal point - the nest. To emphasize the nest I gave it the biggest surrounding negative space and the biggest contrast against the sky. The line of the clouds also point to it, as well as the highlighted layers of rock. Five layout things that inspire me in no particular order. These aren't really animation layouts, they're stand alone paintings, but I'm really drawn to the depth and color of these pictures.
![]() This is the most flat of the five and it is very much so. I just love the collage and stamp like feel; it's almost like wallpaper. Ah, color, light and depth, I love the richness. It brings you into the scene and really sets the mood. I love the organic shapes too, it's almost alien. This is detail overload, but I think it's layed out beautifully. I love the open air feel of these pictures, even when it's an interior.
